Four men were shot, one fatally, on the South Side Thursday evening, according to Chicago police.
It occurred near Washington Park in the 5100 block of South Calumet Avenue at 9:01 p.m., when a black vehicle pulled alongside a large group and a passenger in the vehicle fired into the crowd, police said. The car then left the scene, headed east on 51st Street.
Two men, ages 54 and 44, were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said. The 44-year-old later died.
A 35-year-old man and 34-year-old man were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, officials said.
Chicago police confirmed late Thursday that officers were at the scene. No one is in custody.
