Denver Center’s “A Christmas Carol”

Bria Skonberg: Jingle Bell Swing
Canadian trumpeter and singer Bria Skonberg is one of jazz’s buzziest improvisers, but she also has a sharp, joyful take on modern classics such as Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and Sia’s “Santa Is Coming for Us.” She’s touring behind her latest Christmas release with a sextet as part of the “Jingle Bell Swing” show on Dec. 10 at Newman Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Denver, 2344 E. Colorado Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”
There’s no bigger or better “Nutcracker” in Colorado than this dignified production, which annually attracts tens of thousands of people downtown to witness the spectacle and offer crucial support to nearby businesses.
