A 4-year-old was hospitalized after being hit by a minivan in West Ridge Wednesday night, according to Chicago police.
The child was crossing the street in the 6200 block of North Talman Avenue at 5:43 p.m. when a 72-year-old driver going north hit her, police said. The 4-year-old was taken to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition.
The driver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to enact due care to avoid a pedestrian, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
