
An Afghan national has appeared in court charged with murdering a stranger in Uxbridge.
Safi Dawood is charged with murdering Wayne Broadhurst, 49, and attempted murder following a triple stabbing in Midhurst Gardens on Monday.
Dawood, 22, has also been charged with one count of possessing an offensive weapon following the incident, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard.
A 14-year-old boy and a 45-year-old man were also treated at the scene for stab wounds.
The man remains in hospital with life-changing injuries and the teenager has been discharged.
Dawood appeared in the dock wearing a grey T-shirt and grey trousers and sat hunched over during the brief hearing.
He entered the UK in a lorry in 2020 before claiming asylum, which was granted in 2022, the Home Office previously confirmed.
Dawood was remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey within the next 48 hours.
