ANTIOCH — A driver hit a pedestrian Friday night in Antioch, leaving him with major injuries, police said.
The collision happened around 7:15 p.m. at the on-ramp to eastbound Highway 4 and Hillcrest Avenue, according to the Antioch Police Department. Officers arrived to find the pedestrian, identified as a 63-year-old Antioch man, lying in the roadway.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition late Friday, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, according to police.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the crash.
