Reflecting on stepping behind the camera as a producer, Taylor-Joy shares, “It honestly felt like something I had always been doing; it just now had a job title. I’ve never been able to not think of the project as a whole. It’s all storytelling.”

Taylor-Joy earned critical acclaim and a Golden Globe award for her portrayal of chess prodigy Beth Harmon in Netflix’s hit miniseries The Queen’s Gambit (2020) and later joined the cast of Peaky Blinders. Her filmography includes prominent turns in The Menu (2022) and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024).

The model-turned-actress also reveals her process of choosing roles is purely intuitive: “My body figures it out before I do—I start sitting differently, speaking the words aloud in a new voice. I believe every character has things to teach you.”

Taylor-Joy’s V cover hits newsstands on September 11—check out a sneak peek at the photos above.
