Past launches of collectible novelty items at Disneyland have led to long lines at outdoor vending carts and hourslong waits for mobile order purchases.
The release of the Star Wars novelty items are tied to the May the Fourth fan holiday, the return of Hyperspace Mountain in Tomorrowland (April 28 through June 1), the run of Star Wars Nite after-hours parties (select dates between April 28 and May 6) and the reboot of the Smugglers Run ride with Mandalorian and Grogu in Galaxy’s Edge (starting May 22).
Here’s a quick look at five of the most anticipated Star Wars collectibles coming to Disneyland.
Salvaged Protocol Droid Bucket
The worn and rugged droid’s head that doubles as a popcorn bucket will have light-up eyes.
Nexstar theme park reporter Scott Gustin had a one-word review of the Salvaged Protocol Droid Bucket: “Awesome.”
Jabba’s Sail Barge Bucket
Jabba the Hutt’s lavish sail barge Khetanna from “Return of the Jedi” will feature light up elements and hidden characters.
Fresh Baked Disney vlogger David Erickson called Jabba’s Sail Barge Bucket pure “perfection.”
“Disney Parks have finally made a popcorn bucket I can’t resist,” Erickson wrote on Twitter.
Bantha Sipper
The drink sipper in the shape of a shaggy Bantha with spiraling horns and built-in sound effects was first unveiled during Destination D23 at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Erickson may have his hands full the next time he visits Disneyland.
“The Bantha sipper is pretty damn awesome too,” Erickson wrote on Twitter.
DJ R-3X Tiki Mug
The quirky droid disc jockey at Oga’s Cantina serves as the inspiration for the latest in a long line of Disneyland tiki mugs.
Light Side and Dark Side Swizzle Sticks
The rechargeable mini lightsabers ideal for stirring your drink pay tribute to Luke Skywalker (green) and Darth Vader (red).
The droid popcorn bucket, bantha sipper, tiki mug and swizzle sticks will be available starting on April 28. Jabba’s popcorn barge will be available on May 4.
