Malibu, Los Angeles County Beaches and Ventura County Beaches are under a beach hazards statement which was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 11:16 a.m. The statement is in effect until Sunday July 26, at 8 p.m.
The NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA informs, “Large breaking waves of 3 to 6 feet. Dangerous rip currents.”
“There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore,” according to the NWS. “Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in such conditions, stay off the rocks.”
