Cornerback Nahshon Wright, whose strip of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts on a “Tush Push” last week propelled the Bears to their best win of the season, was named NFC Defensive Player of the Month on Thursday.
Wright intercepted three passes in November and defended six more. He recovered two fumbles, which includes the “Tush Push” play.
He’s the third player in the history of the sport to force a fumble, recover two, intercept three passes, defend six and record at least 15 tackles in one month — and the first to do it since Tramon Williams in October 2010. Ed Reed did it in 2008, too.
“I feel like the way he’s turned the ball over, the way he has had the ball on his mind, has been really impressive,” cornerback Jaylon Johnson said Tuesday. “Again, you get what you emphasize. I know us as a group we have been emphasizing, and he’s been capitalizing on it all season.”
