The Bears will face the Steelers — and possibly quarterback Aaron Rodgers — without any of their starting linebackers.
The team ruled out T.J. Edwards, Tremaine Edmunds and Noah Sewell on Friday after none of them practiced all week. Edmunds (groin) and Sewell (elbow) were hurt Sunday, while Edwards continues to recover from hand surgery and an injury to his hamstring.
The Bears’ backup linebackers are D’Marco Jackson, rookie Ruben Hyppolite II and special teams ace Amen Ogbongbemiga. The Bears signed former Lions linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin to the practice squad this week, though his expertise lies on special teams.
Running backs Roschon Johnson (thumb) and Travis Homer (hamstring/knee) were also ruled out.
Left tackle Theo Benedet, safety Jaquan Brisker and cornerbacks Kyler Gordon and Jaylon Johnson are questionable. The Bears would need to promote either Gordon or Johnson to the active roster Saturday in order for them to play.
