Bears training-camp report No. 19: Luther Burden, Darnell Wright return

Breaking down the Bears’ Wednesday training camp practice:

Burden back

Bears receiver Luther Burden returned ro practice after hurting his groin earlier this month after getting tangled up with cornerback Tyrique Stevenson. The former second-round pick did individual drills for the first part of the hourlong practice. Burden stretched with the team and caught passes from the team’s quarterbacks.

The Bears believed Burden would be back in plenty of time for their opener, which is two weeks from Sunday, and it looks like they were correct.

Wright too

That wasn’t the only piece of good news for the Bears. Right tackle Darnell Wright left practice Tuesday after trainers examined the same right elbow he hurt last season — and for which he still wears a brace. He returned to practice Wednesday.

Defensive tackle Gervon Dexter, who left practice early Tuesday, did not practice. He was not running with the Bears’ first team Tuessday even before he got hurt. Dexter is entering the final year of his contract.

What’s next?

After traveling to Nashville, the Bears will participate in a joint practice against the Titans at 11 a.m.
