It’s a tough line to walk for Bears veteran wide receiver DJ Moore, who has every right to be frustrated about the passing attack struggling yet again but also wants to keep things steady for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. Moore looked upset on the sideline several times during the loss to the Texans on Sunday and didn’t like how that looked when he watched the replay.
“I didn’t think it was, but until you look at the [broadcast] it’s blown up, I’m like, ‘Alright, that’s enough,’” he said. “You can do some self-evaluation. I would say that it’s too much.”
He added that his handling of his emotions was, “Pretty good, pretty bad at the same time. … It was just that we were one play away and we couldn’t get that one play to hit.”
He also thought some of his posture and body language was misinterpreted.
“I just didn’t know that every chance the camera got they caught that angle,” he said. “I usually sit on the bench like that anyway, so I don’t know what that’s about.”

Williams completed 23 of 37 passes for 174 yards with two interceptions as the Bears’ offense went quiet for the second game in a row to open the season. The team is last in the NFL at 198 yards passing this season.
Moore, who put up a career-high 1,364 yards last season even as the offense sputtered with Justin Fields at quarterback, has just 11 catches for 89 yards so far. He’s unhappy with how things have gone offensively, but doesn’t want his reactions to put extra pressure on Williams.
“You want to keep things steady because then you don’t want him to get frustrated and just go out there and try to make a play,” Moore said. “He really didn’t try to go make a play. He was just being himself, and that’s all you can ask.”
