Summit County rescue crews on Tuesday recovered the body of a missing person near Frisco, in a “technical area” of wilderness by Wichita Mountain west of Interstate 70, the sheriff’s office said.
Recovery options were based at the North Tenmile Creek Trailhead near Frisco and wrapped up around 4:30 p.m., according to the agency.
The person, who has not been identified, was reported missing from Frisco. Their name and cause and manner of death will be released by the Summit County Coroner’s Office.
The recovery was not connected to a missing Vail man whose vehicle was found at Officers Gulch earlier this month, sheriff’s officials said.
