Boy, 16, shot, wounded in Roseland

A teenage boy was shot in the head in Roseland on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The boy, 16, was in the front yard of a home in the 11300 block of South Stewart Avenue around 4:30 p.m. when someone fired shots, according to Chicago police. The boy was struck in the head and taken to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn in critical condition.

A firearm was recovered at the scene. No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.
