A five-year-old boy has been left with serious injuries after a wall collapsed during his family day out at crazy golf.

Sidcup Family Golf in Chislehurst, south east London has been closed since the young child’s injuries on Sunday at 5.45pm.

A six-year-old girl was also injured but has since been discharged from hospital.

The two children were at a birthday party held at the golf venue which is home to a 46-bay, multi-tier driving range and two outdoor dinosaur-themed crazy golf courses.

A spokesperson for the venue said its first priority was ‘ensuring they received immediate medical attention’ when the incident happened.

They also said: ‘Our thoughts are entirely with the child and their family at this time.’

Sidcup Family Golf is cooperating with emergency services and investigating how the collapse happened.

A witness told News Shopper that staff at the centre worked quickly to look after the injured children, while one colleague ‘may have even saved his life.’

Lots of police were present at the venue following the injuries, according to another witness.

A Met Police spokesperson said they received reports of a child being injured by a collapsing wall at the golf venue.

They said: ‘Officers attended and paramedics were treating a five-year-old boy.

‘He was taken to hospital by the London Air Ambulance, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

‘A six-year-old girl was also injured and has since been discharged from the hospital.’

Enquiries are ongoing and the venue remains closed.
