A homeowner has condemned a building firm for posting a viral video online suggesting she ‘dodged their bills’.

The clip – which was viewed more than a million times on TikTok – showed workers from Kendall Construction Ltd, in Leeds, demolishing the homeowner’s driveway.

A man is seen using a powered cutter to carve up the driveway before a digger begins tearing it off the ground.

The video was captioned: ‘Can’t pay? We’ll take it away.’

The firm has deleted the clip and apologised to the owner after she spoke out to say she had indeed paid for the work, which were part of repairs.

She told MailOnline: ‘They’ve posted a video on TikTok suggesting that I’m someone who dodges their bills, so they’ve ripped up my driveway.

‘That is not the situation whatsoever. The fact is, yes, they were taking up the drive, but they were taking up the drive because it needed repairing.

She added: ‘They’ve put me in an awful position. People online think I’m someone who doesn’t pay their bills.’

the work showed in the footage was part of repairs following damage caused by a separate issue.

According to MailOnline, Kendall Construction Ltd posted a new clip of the completed works with a caption confirming the customer ‘did pay in full’ and saying they apologised to her personally.

They told the outlet the video was ‘fake’ and ‘AI made’.
