CAMP Northridge opens, offering low-cost veterinary care

The Community Animal Medicine Project celebrated the opening of CAMP Northridge, a low-cost, non-profit veterinary clinic offering wellness care, spay/neuter services, dental care and vaccinations on Tuesday, July 7.

The clinic — located at the PetSmart store in Northridge, 19320 Nordhoff Way — will also serve as the temporary home of CAMP’s Veterinary Training Project, which trains veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians in high-volume spay and neuter surgery.

Organizers say the facility expands access to affordable veterinary care in the San Fernando Valley and replaces the organization’s Mission Hills clinic, which closed June 30.

“We believe no pet should suffer or be turned into a shelter because their family can’t afford veterinary care,” says a statement on the organization’s website. “Our programs for pets keep furry family members healthy and happy at home.”

The website also lists clinics in Cerritos, Van Nuys, Los Angeles and two in San Pedro.
