Car with missing Boulder teen last spotted in Thornton, according to Amber Alert

The car that a missing 16-year-old was forced into in Boulder on Monday night was last spotted in Thornton, according to an Amber Alert from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Jasmin Zapata was last seen at about 8 p.m. Monday, being forced into a two-door, gray Chevy Silverado truck with Colorado license plate AXW-L52, state officials said in the Amber Alert. The car has a lime green “Timpano” sticker in the bottom left corner of the rear windshield.

Jasmin is described as a 5-foot-5-inch, 110-pound, Hispanic teenager with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.

Juan Bretado, a 19-year-old man who investigators believe was driving the Chevy Silverado, and a second unidentified man are suspected of taking Jasmin, state officials said in the Amber Alert.

Bretado is described as a 5-foot-8-inch, Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes.

The Chevy Silverado was last seen near Thornton Parkway and Gale Boulevard in Thornton just before 9 p.m. Monday, according to the alert.

Anyone with information on Jasmin or her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Boulder Police Department at 303-441-3333.
