Catholic procession winds through Hollywood, urging prayers for peace

More than 1,000 Catholics took to the streets of Hollywood on Wednesday evening for a Eucharistic Procession that wound through Tinseltown.

The procession, which began and ended at Hollywood’s Blessed Sacrament Church, was staged to embrace the National Day of Prayer for Peace.

Los Angeles Archbishop José H. Gomez led the Eucharistic Procession, which wound down Hollywood and Sunset boulevards along the community’s Walk of Fame.

“Let us pray for peace in our country and peace in our world,” said Gomez.

The event also promoted the movie “Adore Him: He Is Here,” which will open locally in theaters on Oct. 4.

Temperatures hovered in the 90s during the procession during L.A.s week-long spate of heat and humidity.
