Cats have more than 9 lives as CatCon celebrates 10th anniversary in Pasadena

It was all about cats and culture at the Pasadena Convention Center this weekend, Aug. 2 and 3.

CatCon, said to be the world’s largest event dedicated to the intersection of cat lovers and pop culture – celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Pasadena hub, both Saturday and Sunday.

The two-day cat-palooza celebrated all things feline.

There were cat products, local small businesses and large global brands, immersive art installations, and meet-and-greets with Instagram’s favorite celebricats.

And crowds of cat-lovers gathered to take it all in.

Proceeds benefited Pasadena Humane and displaced pets from the Eaton fire in Altadena.

It also helped 200 kittens find forever homes.

Organizers say that since its founding, CatCon has drawn more than 100,000 attendees from around the world, and helped more than 1,200 cats and kittens find loving homes.

This year, attendees could explore a massive show floor filled with products for both themselves and their cats,  and feature moments included the debut of Purr-oject Catwalk — a new feline-inspired fashion showcase.

Organizers say it’ the “like the Comic-Con for cat people.”
