“Going for Home,” a documentary film chronicling the 2025 Central Altadena Little League season in the aftermath of the Eaton fire will be screened for free at Loma Alta Park Saturday, May 16.
The screening begins at 7:30 p.m. at the park’s Dodgers Dreamfield, 3330 N. Lincoln Ave. Organizers asked attendees to bring a chair or blanket. Written and directed by Academy Award-winner Eric Simonson, the documentary has been screened at film festivals ahead of the weekend’s showing.
Simonson and his wife Sue Cremin, who produced the documentary, filmed for six months starting in March 2025. Despite 90% of families in the league losing their homes or being displaced by the fire, the season went ahead.
“Set under the open sky in Altadena, the event offers an opportunity for families, players, and residents to come together — not only to watch the film, but to reflect on shared loss, resilience, and the enduring spirit of the game,” a news release read.
