Chicago Halloween decorations show the fun, spooky side of city

With Labor Day’s end, when city lifeguards leave their stands for the season and cicadas stop buzzing, spooky things begin to appear outside homes in every neighborhood — Halloween decorations.

Hit just about any street city-wide and you’ll find Halloween displays ranging from the whimsical to the unsettlingly gory.

This year, Sun-Times photographers hit a few neighborhoods and caught some garish setups outside homes. You can swipe through these neighborhood galleries below.

This collection of photos will grow, so check back as we add more.

Want your neighborhood represented here? Send us photos of your favorite Halloween displays to audience@suntimes.com and we’ll add them.

Happy Halloween!
