Chicago rapper Chief Keef will launch his “Chief Keef Live” tour from Chicago in September with a homecoming show at Northerly Island.
The announcement comes on the heels of an electrifying red-light-washed performance at Summer Smash weeks ago in Bridgeview.
Tickets go on sale July 10 for the tour, which lists 19 stops, including New York and San Francisco, before ending in Las Vegas. This will be Chief Keef’s first major tour since 2024.
The South Side native, born Keith Cozart, was catapulted into national stardom with his 2012 release “I Don’t Like,” which is largely credited for introducing drill rap to mainstream audiences. His latest album, 2024’s “Almighty So 2” was met with critical acclaim. The highly anticipated follow up to his 2013 cult-classic mixtape, “All Mighty So,” peaked at No. 10 on Billboard’s to R&B and rap albums, with Pitchfork saying it “gives his gothic raps a new grandeur.”
Chicago fans have eagerly supported Chief Keef returning to hometown performances. He had a nearly 12-year hiatus from local shows when he was unofficially blacklisted by venues in the city and surrounding suburbs. That period ended when took the stage during 2024’s Summer Smash and performed in front of a crowd of 40,000.
Following his 2024 return, Chief Keef has been busy. He’s since graced stages at Rolling Loud, Dreamville Fest, and 2026 Summer Smash. “Chief Keef Live” will feature new music from his 2026 mixtape “Skeletor,” have guest appearances, and will highlight a 15-year career that began when the pioneer of drill rap was just a teen.
