A festive alcoholic drink sold in supermarkets across the UK has been urgently recalled over fears of glass inside.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) warned consumers about the possibility of glass inside 700ml bottles of Disaronno Originale.
Several batches of the drink, produced by Illva Saronno S.p.A, were affected by the recall.
In the notice, issued on Tuesday, the FSA said: ‘Illva Saronno S.p.A is recalling Disaronno Originale because of the possible presence of small pieces of glass within some bottles of product, which could make it unsafe to drink.’

These notices will now be placed at the points of sale in shops where the bottles are sold.
The affected bottles have the following codes 25374, 25375, 25381, 25382, 25435, 25442, 25444, which consumers can check on the back.
The same product with the same issue was recalled in the Republic of Ireland on Monday.
Illva Saronno said of the recall notice: ‘We apologies for any inconvenience. Consumer safety is our priority.’
They explained that the possible presence of glass was due to an ‘anomaly on a bottling line’.
