After a 40-year career at ABC7, investigative reporter Chuck Goudie has left the Chicago station but says he’s not done with television.
“I am weighing several TV opportunities,” Goudie said in an email to the Sun-Times.
Dec. 31 was his last day at WLS-Channel 7, he said. Neither Goudie nor ABC7 would comment on the circumstances of his exit.
“Chuck was a valued member of our ABC7 team for many years and we thank him for his groundbreaking contributions,” spokesperson Jayme Nicholas said in a statement. “We wish him only the best in his next chapter.”
The award-winning journalist joined the station as a general assignment reporter in 1980 and was promoted to chief investigative reporter a decade later. He went on to lead the I-Team.
In 2018, he was honored with an induction into the Silver Circle of the Chicago/Midwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
