Coastal drowning victim ID’d as Los Gatos woman

SWANTON — Officials have identified the woman who died in the water last week near Scott Creek Beach.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office, Caitlin Hoffman, 63, from Los Gatos, died on the morning of Aug. 28. Despite life-saving efforts, Hoffman succumbed to her injuries after being pulled from the water.

California State Parks is investigating details of Hoffman’s death.
