About a block of Champa Street in downtown Denver is closed as emergency services work to clear a collapsed wall of the former dive bar Carioca Cafe, commonly known as Bar Bar.
Denver Police closed Champa near 21st Street at about 11:45 a.m. after a wall collapsed onto unoccupied vehicles there, according to a post on the department’s X account. The 135-year-old building is at 2060 Champa St. in Denver.
The bar has been closed since last summer after it caught fire.
The Denver Fire Department was managing the incident. There were no reported injuries.
