Denver Summit FC has added its first player, and it’s someone with local ties.
Ally Watt, a Colorado Springs native and Pine Creek alum, joined the expansion NWSL franchise on Wednesday in a trade from the Orlando Pride. The 28-year-old Watt will finish the current season with the Pride on loan before joining Denver for the 2026 campaign.
“It’s an incredible honor to be the first player in Denver Summit FC history,” Watt said in a team release. “As a Coloradan, this opportunity means so much to me, not just to play the game I love, but to represent the place that shaped who I am in front of the people that mean the most to me. I’m proud to help lay the foundation for something special alongside (head coach) Nick Cushing, and I can’t wait to be a part of building a team that this city can be proud of.”
Watt has scored six goals in 60 career matches for the Pride. She also had three assists during the 2024 postseason, tying a league record and helping Orlando claim the NWSL championship.
After starring at Pine Creek in soccer and track, Watt went to Texas A&M and was the No. 6 pick in the 2020 NWSL draft by the Carolina Courage.
Summit FC sent $75,000 in expansion allocation money and $37,500 in 2025 intra-league transfer funds to Orlando to complete the deal.
