A Los Angeles Fire Department truck collided with three other vehicles in Harbor Gateway on Sunday, Sept. 13, leaving seven people injured, authorities said.
At about 2:30 p.m., a Los Angeles fire truck was en route to an emergency call when it collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Figueroa and 120th Street, just west of the 110 Freeway, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Keith Mott. Two more vehicles were hit after the initial collision.
One person had to be freed from a vehicle following the crash, Los Angeles Fire Capt. Anthony Tubbs said. Seven people, including one fire official, were hospitalized. Tubbs declined to disclose further details about the patients and their current conditions pending the ongoing police investigation.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation, Mott said.
The intersection at Figueroa and 120th Street was closed after the crash and remained closed as of 4:30 p.m. There was no estimated time for reopening, Mott said.
