Dad-to-be shot dead in south east London named and pictured

Curtis Green was killed on Sunday night

A dad-to-be who was shot to death in a ‘senseless’ attack in a residential area in Sydenham, south London, has been named.

Curtis Green, 30, was killed on Sunday after the shooting on Wells Park Road.

He was described by his family as ‘happy, excited and beautiful’.

They said: ‘He was an entrepreneur and the owner of a clothing brand and local fitness company. He was also a father-to-be, with a child due in five months.’

Two others were also injured in the attack, including a woman who was shot in the legs.

Both of their conditions are believed to be non-life threatening.

Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend, said: ‘Following our appeal on Sunday, I want to reiterate how important it is to come forward if you have any information about what happened on Sunday morning.

‘Three people were shot, and sadly one has lost their life. We have been working tirelessly in order to establish the circumstances and these enquiries remain ongoing.’

No arrests have been made.

The area’s MP Ellie Reeves said on social media: ‘I know that our whole community will be concerned about the fatal shooting in Sydenham.

‘There can be no place for this mindless violence and I hope the perpetrator is brought to justice swiftly. My thoughts are with all those affected.’

Commander Peter Stevens said: ‘I know people will be shocked by this senseless act of violence, all the more so on a Sunday morning in a residential area.

‘I share their concerns and can assure the local community that the Met’s response, alongside our partners, has been rapid.

‘We are determined to safeguard the community, to get to the bottom of what happened here and bring those responsible to justice.

‘You will see a considerable number of additional officers in the area, including forensic experts. Police cordons are likely to remain in place for some time so that they can carry out their vital work.

‘Officers will also be patrolling the area. I urge anyone with information to speak with those officers.

‘A number of people have already contacted us, and we need that flow of information from anyone who saw or heard anything of note to continue.

‘We also need to hear from anyone who has phone, CCTV or doorbell footage that may help the investigation.’
