DUBLIN — A Daly City resident has been charged with two felonies after he allegedly showed up to a meeting with an undercover cop who had been posing as a 13-year-old girl online, court records show.
Ricardo Alan Jimenez, 31, was charged with arranging a sexual meeting with a minor, and contacting a minor with intent to commit a sex crime, both felonies. He has been released from jail after posting $100,000 bail, court records show.
Police said in court filings that an undercover FBI agent made a fake profile on a “social media application” using a child’s picture. According to records, the agent later told Dublin police that after they told Jimenez they were 13, he responded, “Damn that’s young I don’t want to get intoble (sic).”
Jimenez allegedly discussed various sex acts with the agent and agreed to bring condoms to their meeting, according to police. He was arrested on Sept. 26, at the Sofi Apartments in Dublin, where the agent allegedly told Jimenez “she” lived.
Jimenez admitted to driving to Dublin to meet with a 13-year-old girl, according to police. His bail bond conditions forbid him with interacting with minors online or in person. He is next due to appear in court on Sept. 23 to enter a plea, records show.
