Dignity Health-Northridge Hospital Medical Center hosted a holiday food hub

Dignity Health-Northridge Hospital Medical Center, in collaboration with the American Heart Association, hosted its annual Holiday Food Hub event on Tuesday. The event focused on distributing fresh produce and holiday staples to families in need. The hospital gave out more than 400 turkeys, as well as pies and fresh produce.
“We are incredibly proud to continue our partnership with the American Heart Association, especially during the holiday season,” said Jeremy Zoch, president and CEO of Northridge Hospital. “The food hub is more than just providing meals; it’s about nourishing our community’s body and soul, fostering access to healthy food, and empowering individuals with valuable health resources.”

Bryan Lopez, director of development at American Heart Association, said, “My motivation for serving the Northridge community today is in the spirit of giving back, especially to those who have experienced food insecurity. This is my second year participating and it has become my own annual tradition.”
“I’m donating my time today because I’m blessed to have friends and family and it’s my chance to give back to my community,” said Dr. Tung Nguyen, Northridge Hospital Pharmacy.
“We’re thankful for all the blessings that we’ve had throughout the year with our family and friends,” said Maria Jimenez of Reseda, who received a turkey. “We have newborns coming into the family. It’s going to be a blessing.”
Danielle Sumii of Van Nuys who received a turkey, said, “I’m thankful for my family, my daughter and my fiancee. We’re celebrating Thanksgiving with an even bigger part of my family; we’re going to celebrate with my Filipino side of the family, a bunch of us, finally, all together, spending time with the grand kids.”
