Disneyland MAGA Invasion aims to ‘Make Disney Great Again’

Trump supporters wearing MAGA hats and Make Disney Great Again T-shirts are planning an “invasion” of Disneyland  in support of what the organizers call a “return to American roots and classic values.”

The Patriots in the Park event presented by 805 Patriots will be held at the Anaheim theme park on Feb. 28, according to social media posts promoting the Disneyland MAGA Invasion.

“Get ready to stand for tradition and make your voice heard at the Patriots in the Park event,” said the announcement on the 805 Patriots events webpage.

The political activist group based in the Central Coast’s 805 area code organizes flag runs in support of President Trump and conservative causes.

Patriots in the Park is not a Disneyland resort event. It appears to be similar to many unaffiliated and unofficial events held at Disneyland — like Gay Days, Dapper Day, Bats Days and the MiceChat Gumball Rally.

Disneyland reserves the right to deny admission to anyone wearing inappropriate attire that detracts from the guest experience, according to the park’s rules and regulations. Flags and demonstrations are not allowed in the theme park.

The 805 Patriots’ announcement says Disneyland MAGA Invasion attendees are encouraged to wear red MAGA hats and blue Make Disney Great Again T-shirts. Attendees are discouraged from bringing American or MAGA flags to Disneyland.

The group’s merchandise page is selling limited-edition Patriots in the Park shirts ($30), hoodies ($50) and baby onesies ($20).

The Patriots in the Park logo in the distinctive “Waltograph” Disney font features a Revolutionary War soldier holding a Betsy Ross flag next to Sleeping Beauty Castle with the slogan “Make Disney Great Again.”

Trump and his administration have targeted Disney’s diversity, equity and inclusion practices, threatened to revoke ABC’s broadcasting license following critical coverage and applauded the brief suspension of talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.
