Donald Trump has called for the Epstein Files to be released as he has ‘nothing to hide’, calling claims he is implicated in them a ‘Democrat hoax’.

It comes after an email from Jeffrey Epstein’s brother – which mentions photos of Donald Trump ‘blowing Bubba’ – sparked a lot of speculation last week, as this was a nickname used by Bill Clinton.

This is a major reversal from the US president, who previously objected to the full release of the files.

The US president addressed the controversy in a series of posts on his Truth Social site yesterday after returning from Florida, saying ‘I DON’T CARE’ that ‘tens of thousands of pages’ had been released, or that more documents would be in future.

Another post Donald Trump made to Truth Social last night

He wrote: ‘As I said on Friday night aboard Air Force One to the Fake News Media, House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party, including our recent Victory on the Democrat “Shutdown.””

In a long post, he added: ‘Nobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive and, if the Democrats had anything, they would have released it before our Landslide Election Victory.’

He then went on to talk about what he viewed as the important issues, such as bringing down taxes and inflation, rebuilding the military, and ‘stopping Transgender for Everyone’, signing off with ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’

Democrats and some Republicans have been pushing for the public release of more of the Epstein files, with supporters having enough votes to pass the House, although how it would fare in the Senate is unclear.

The bill would force the Justice Department to release all files and communications related to Epstein, as well as any information about the investigation into his death in federal prison while awaiting trial.

In the release, information about Epstein’s victims or ongoing federal investigations would be allowed to be redacted.

Discussing the legislation yesterday, US representative Thomas Massie said ‘there could be 100 or more’ votes from Republicans: ‘I’m hoping to get a veto-proof majority on this legislation when it comes up for a vote.’

He added: ‘I’m not tired of winning yet, but we are winning.’

Is Trump in the Epstein Files?

Donald Trump knew Jeffrey Epstein in a relationship going back decades, and is named in some of the files, though he denies any wrongdoing.

The two businessmen flew between New York and Palm Beach together regularly, partying at Mar-a-Lago Club and eating together at Epstein’s mansion in Manhattan.

Speaking to New York Magazine in 2002, Trump said: ‘I’ve known Jeff for 15 years, terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with.

‘It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it – Jeffrey enjoys his social life.’

But their relationship seemed to sour, apparently becoming rivals in 2004 after they competed to buy property in Palm Beach.

Three emails that have been publicly disclosed claim that the US President allegedly ‘spent hours’ at the billionaire’s mansion with a victim of sex trafficking, who the White House has named as Virginia Giuffre.

A 2019 email that Epstein wrote to a journalist said Mr Trump ‘knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop’.

The White House has accused Democrats of selectively leaking the emails to smear the Republican president.

His press secretary, Karoline Leavitt said: ‘The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre.’
