Doritos has issued an urgent recall of one of its most popular flavours.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the product could pose a ‘possible health risk’ to customers.
PepsiCo is recalling its Dorito Chilli Heatwave packs after some were stuffed with Tangy Cheese flavoured crisps.
It poses a possible health risk because the Tangy Cheese snacks contain milk, but the Chilli Heatwave ones do not, and it is not included on the list of ingredients.
The company is instructing customers to return their bags in exchange for a full refund.
The FSA said the 140g packs with the batch code GBC 209 184C and the best before day of December 5, 2026, possibly contain the wrong ingredient.
According to Allergy UK, most allergic reactions to milk are mild but they can also be moderate or severe.
Mild to moderate symptoms include itchy mouth, tongue and throat, swollen lips, a red raised itchy rash, vomiting, nausea and a runny nose and sneezing.
Severe symptoms of anaphylaxis include swelling of the tongue and or throats, difficulty swallowing or a change in voice, difficult or noisy breathing, and dizziness.
In a statement, the FSA said: ‘This product contains milk, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
‘PepsiCo is recalling the product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
‘The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.’
