MORGAN HILL — A driver hit and killed a pedestrian Wednesday night in Morgan Hill, authorities said.
The traffic collision was reported shortly before 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Cochrane Road and Madrone Parkway, according to the Morgan Hill Police Department. Officers arrived to find a man in the eastbound lanes of Cochrane Road.
Police said the man died of his injuries at the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release his identity after it is confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
Alcohol and drug impairment did not appear to play a role in the collision, police said.
