Blokes on a rowdy stag do were marched off a plane by police after their behaviour forced the diversion of an easyJet flight.
The six men were escorted off after the London Gatwick to Marrakesh flight landed in Faro, Portugal – 632 miles from its intended destination on May 19.
Witnesses say two of the men were abusive to cabin staff and continued to vape and drink heavily in their seats, despite six warnings.
Passenger Arron Davies, who was travelling with friends Mike and Scott, watched the drama unfold.
He said: ‘They were being abusive towards staff on the flight and I think they had an undertone of homophobia toward the head steward.
‘They were being loud and using a lot of bad language despite children being on the flight.
‘The four friends were annoyed that their two mates had ruined their trip.’
Arron praised the easyJet flight steward for his ‘professionalism’ and ‘composure’.
An easyJet spokesperson said: ‘This flight from London Gatwick to Marrakech on 19 May diverted to Faro and was met by police upon arrival due to a group of passengers behaving disruptively onboard.
‘Once the passengers had left the aircraft, the flight then continued to Marrakech.
‘Our cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and acted quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers was not compromised at any time.
‘The safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew is always easyJet’s priority and we do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour onboard.’
Last year, six people were arrested in Tenerife after a stag party fight broke out on a Ryanair plane.
On another easyJet flight in 2018, a stag do was kicked off the flight because they ‘treated the plane like a nightclub’.
Meanwhile in 2016, a stag do of 11 men forced a Ryanair plane to divert to Berlin because they were all so drunk.
