Elon Musk is walking back ‘some’ of his comments about Donald Trump – this is the latest twist after their relationship imploded in full public view.
The bromance – which saw the world’s richest man investing at least $260 million into efforts to send the Republican back to the White House – ended in tantrums and snarky swipes from both sides.
One accusation by Musk, which could have huge legal implications, drew in the most attention.
The billionaire alleged that the president is featured in secret government files on rich and powerful former associates of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, reigniting long-running conspiracy theories.
Now, the Tesla and Space X CEO is retracting some posts – but he has not specified which ones exactly.
He wrote on X this morning: ‘I regret some of my posts about the president this week. They went too far.’
Since their fight began, Musk has deleted some social media posts critical of Trump, including one signaling support for impeaching the president.
Sources close to the billionaire had said his anger has started to subside, and that they believe he may want to repair his relationship with Trump.
The president stressed on Saturday that their relationship was over but has since said that he would not have a problem if Musk called and wished him well.
