Emmys 2025: Biggest trends on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards

The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards kicked off at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, and we spotted some trends on the red carpet.

Hot pink, blush pink, cotton candy pink, there wasn’t a hue that wasn’t spotted on the Emmys red carpet tonight. Another significant trend involved variations of black and white color-block gowns and tuxedo looks, many of which nodded to old Hollywood glamour. Metallic and liquid looks also ruled the night at the Emmys, which many stars stunned in silvers, shiny blacks, bronzes and gun metal greys.

Take a look at the trending looks of the 77th annual Emmy Awards.

Pretty in Pink

“Paradise” star Julianne Nicholson walked the 2025 Emmy Awards red carpet in a hot pink strapless square cut gown. And “White Lotus” stars Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, and Lisa all arrived at the 77th Emmys wearing pink numbers in various hues. Emmy-nominated Posey donned a custom Valentino gown featuring a feather-trimmed, cropped cape and a (very) ruffled skirt. Wood, also up for an Emmy, wore a blush pink and red color-block gown with a bustier-style bodice and a pencil skirt that nods to old Hollywood glamour. Lisa was a cotton-candy vision in her Lever Couture gown that brought the drama with a sweeping train and fabric that swirled around her hips and shoulders.

Black and White Glamour

“The Bear” actor Molly Gordon walked the Emmy Awards red carpet in a striped black-and-white strapless gown designed by Giorgio Armani. “Dying for Sex” star Jenny Slate, who’s up for an Emmy Award, wore a gown by Rosie Assoulin with a strapless plunging neckline and a sheer cream white ruffle train when she arrived at the awards ceremony. Kristen Bell, who starred in “Nobody Wants This” and earned an Emmy nomination for her role, stunned in a backless black and white gown with a sequin-embroidered skirt from the Armani Privé fall 2024 couture collection. And “Black Mirror” producer Jessica Rhoades arrived in a black gown with dramatic ruffle sleeves.

Liquid and Metal

Emmy-nominated Zuri Hall strutted the red carpet in a burgundy Elio Abou Fayssal liquid look featuring dramatic ruffles and a strapless neckline. “White Lotus” star Michelle Monaghan wore a look fit for Studio 54. The custom silver Rabanne dress was a custom interpretation of archival ’70s gowns. TV host Mona Kosar Abdi wore a sweeping glossy black number on the red carpet, and pop superstar Halsey walked the carpet sparkling from head to toe, wearing a vintage-inspired black and gold gown designed by Givenchy’s former creative director, Sarah Burton.
