A former part-time Park City police officer was charged with repeatedly sexually assaulting a woman during traffic stops, the Park City Police Department said in a statement.
Patrick Cacho faces charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, aggravated battery, official misconduct, and criminal sexual abuse from the Lake County States Attorney’s office, according to the statement. He was arrested by Illinois State Police Tuesday after he was fired from the Park City force earlier in the day.
The department was notified of the allegations in late January that he “had acted unprofessionally and possibly engaged in criminal conduct while on duty on more than one occasion” over several weeks with a woman during traffic stops, according to the statement.
The Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board waived him from training to be reactivated as an officer in September.
