The estranged wife of Premier League star Kieran Trippier had her £2million house rammed into in a suspected attempted raid.
A vehicle was used to smash through the security gates at the Cheshire home of Charlotte Trippier, 36.
A source told The Sun: ‘It sent chills down her spine. She immediately feared the worst, as it looks as if the burglars tried to ram her gates, and tried to force them open with tools.
‘Charlotte was already on edge after police wrote to residents earlier this year asking them to be vigilant and ensure their homes were secure after a spate of burglaries in the area.
‘She’s improved security as she’s worried burglars have been casing her home.’

She had split up with Kieran last year and the couple is now in the process of getting divorced.
Cheshire Police confirmed they were investigating ‘suspicious activity’ at the Cheshire mansion.
They said: ‘We have received a report of suspicious activity at an address and are making enquiries to establish the circumstances.’
Kieran and Charlotte married in 2016, but last year he was pictured partying with another woman in a nightclub in May.
Charlotte then moved away from their shared home in the North East, but added she was ‘doing fine’.
She said: ‘Obviously, I’m not ready to talk about my situation. In time I will, when I’m comfortable and the time is right.
‘Also, I have three young children so I don’t want to put things out there for them to see.’
