Facing a spike in your health insurance? The Denver Post wants to talk to you

Coloradans who buy subsidized health insurance on the individual marketplace will pay about twice as much in 2026 as they did this year, assuming Congress doesn’t reach a last-minute deal. The Denver Post wants to know how you’re planning to cope.

The price hike comes from a combination of the underlying cost of health insurance going up and pandemic-era enhanced subsidies expiring, leaving people responsible for a larger percentage of the cost of their insurance. Rural residents and people between 55 and 64 will see even larger increases in their monthly costs.

Reporter Meg Wingerter is working on a story about how Coloradans are planning to respond to the increased costs. Are you shopping for a cheaper plan? Cutting out nonessentials? Planning to go uninsured and risk a big medical bill? Let us know below.
