Family no longer financially supporting Nick Reiner in murder defense: report
Nick Reiner is not receiving financial support from family for his defense in the killings of his parents, Rob and Michele Singer Reiner, according to a report.
Reiner, who pleaded not guilty to the fatal stabbings Monday, was represented in court by a public defender.
His siblings — Romy and Jake Reiner — are not planning to hire a criminal defense attorney, according to TMZ.
“They’re not involved,” a source with direct knowledge told the gossip outlet.
High-profile defender Alan Jackson had initially been hired by the family to represent Reiner but abruptly quit in January prior to a court appearance.

Reiner, 32, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, with the special circumstance of multiple murders, after the actor-director and his wife of 36 years were found dead with stab wounds on Dec. 14, 2025, at their Brentwood home.
He also faces a special allegation that he personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon, a knife.
No motive information or whether Nick Reiner’s history of mental illness is connected to the case has been reported
A court order has prevented the public release of more details.
Reiner has been held without bail since his arrest later that day, hours after his parents’ bodies were discovered.
His next hearing is scheduled for April 29.
