Fatal four-vehicle crash shuts down eastern Aurora roads, police say

Officers are investigating a four-vehicle crash in eastern Aurora that killed at least one person and shut down several roads in the area on Sunday, police said.

The Aurora Police Department first posted about the fatal crash at South Gun Club Road and East Jewell Avenue at 5:18 p.m. Sunday. Parts of Gun Club are closed between Jewell and East Hampden avenues for the crash cleanup and investigation, police said.

Drivers should avoid the area and take alternate routes where possible.

Information about the cause of the crash, the number of people hurt or killed, the type of vehicles involved and the circumstances leading up to the crash was not immediately available Sunday.

At least one person died in the crash, police said. The crash victims will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
