A flight was delayed for two hours after a pair of American women allegedly began fighting over a Donald Trump MAGA hat.
They reportedly came to blows after one of the pair demanded the other remove a red baseball cap which had the Republican US Presidential nominee’s Make America Great Again slogan on it.
When she refused they allegedly squared up to each other before violence erupted, prompting the captain to call for help.
Met Police officers attended, prompting both women to be removed from the BA flight from Heathrow to Austin, Texas on Monday.
A Heathrow source told the Sun: ‘With the US Presidential election so close, tensions are sky high.
‘Airline crew could not run the risk of a full-scale punch-up at 30,000ft.

‘It was extraordinary.’
The alleged confrontation continued as they left the aircraft where they continued to exchange obscenities.
Both were later quizzed by police and made allegations of affray against each other.
Neither was arrested for the alleged fight – which took place in premium economy.
Flight BA191 had been due to depart the airport at 12.10pm, eventually left 2.11pm without the two women on board.
The incident came just days before America votes for its next president with polls currently neck-and-neck between Mr Trump and US vice-president Kamala Harris.
The Met Police said ‘enquiries are ongoing’ into the alleged bust-up.
A police spokeswoman told Metro.co.uk: ‘Shortly after 12.45pm on Monday, 28 October police at Heathrow were made aware of an incident involving two women waiting to board a plane in Terminal 5.
‘A woman in her 40s and a woman in her 60s made counter allegations of affray.’
A spokesperson for British Airways told the Sun: ‘We apologised to our customers for the delay and got them on the way as quickly as possible.’
