A strip of vegetation caught fire Sunday behind a parking lot at the Garland hotel in the Studio City area and was quickly extinguished by Los Angeles firefighters.
The LA Fire Department responded to 4222 Vineland Ave. at 1:22 p.m. on reports of the fire near the hotel and the 101 Freeway, said spokesman Nicholas Prange.
It took 49 firefighters 22 minutes to stop forward progress of the blaze, which burned less than half an acre, Prange said. Crews remained on scene to look for hot spots. There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
