A man whose car went over a cliff in Pacifica has escaped with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening following his rescue by North County Fire Authority personnel Thursday morning.
Multiple fire companies responded to the area near Monterey Avenue and Manor Drive after crews discovered that a vehicle had plunged approximately 200 yards below the cliff. Firefighter paramedics conducted a high-angle rope rescue operation and used a hoist helicopter to transport the man to safety before he was taken away by an ambulance to a local hospital.
Officials from the Fire Authority reported that there were no other injuries to civilians or emergency personnel.
The incident is under investigation by the Pacifica Police Department.
