For BART commuters, it’s another rough ride on a Monday

BART riders trying to get through San Francisco endured long delays Monday morning after a power issue on the trackway in the downtown areas forced the cancellation of two lines.

The shutdown of the Green Line between the Daly City and Berryessa/North San Jose stations and the Red Line between the Richmond and Millbrae stations marked the fourth Monday since Oct. 20 that that BART has endured a significant delay or interruption to its operation.

BART spokesperson Anna Duckworth said BART closed the two lines “to ease the flow of trains” through the Transbay Tube and “prevent bottlenecks.”

All 50 stations were open, as was service to all 50. BART had limited service on it’s blue line from Daly City to Pleasanton, with riders on that line having to exit at the Bay Fair station

Technicians were working to fix the problem, Duckworth said.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
