Ford and outdoor outfitter Filson have unveiled the first-ever Bronco Filson, a ruggedly stylish 4×4 SUV designed to combine rugged off-road capability with field-tested automotive craftsmanship.

The collab marks the first time the two Detroit and Seattle-based American heritage brands have united to produce a production vehicle. For Ford, the partnership serves as something of a spiritual successor to its Ford x Eddie Bauer editions, which pioneered the outdoor-themed SUV segment from 1984 through the mid-1990s. While those classic models focused primarily on aesthetics, the new Bronco Filson aims to focus more on pairing premium materials with heavy-duty off-road hardware.

“Bronco buyers don’t just want a vehicle — they want a partner for wherever they’re headed,” Andrew Frick, president of Ford Blue and Ford Model e, said in a statement shared by the carmaker. “Filson has spent more than a century making gear people trust and putting their products to the test in extreme conditions. That’s exactly the standard we had in mind.”

Under the hood, the Bronco Filson is powered by a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, a powerplant shared with the high-performance Bronco Raptor. Built on a high-strength steel ladder frame, the vehicle comes standard with Ford’s Sasquatch off-road package. The package adds front and rear electronic locking differentials, high-performance Fox shocks with internal bypass technology, and 35-inch rugged-terrain tires engineered to reduce pavement noise while maintaining trail grip.

Drivers can navigate diverse environments using Ford’s Terrain Management System, which features seven “G.O.A.T. Modes” (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain), including specialized settings for rock crawling and high-speed desert driving. Inside, Filson’s design influence is reflected in a cabin built to endure the elements while drawing stylistic DNA from Filson’s famously rough-and-tumble canvas bag collections. The interior features perforated, quilted leather, woven fabric seat trim inspired by Filson’s rugged twill, and a leather-wrapped dashboard.

“If you’re hesitating because you’re afraid to get the cabin dirty, it doesn’t belong in a Bronco,” said Paul Wraith, global design director for Ford SUVs. “This interior isn’t meant to wear down, it’s designed to wear in.” To further cater to outdoor enthusiasts, the special-edition SUV features removable, water-resistant saddlebags on the doors and cargo areas to hold gear like fly-fishing boxes or camera lenses.

The Filson-branded Bronco also features engineering upgrades to reduce cabin wind noise by nearly 20% compared to earlier models. Added amenities include ventilated front seats, a digital rearview mirror to maintain rear visibility when fully loaded with cargo, and power-deploying running boards.

A limited “First Edition” production run will be offered for North America, featuring an exclusive Iron Sands Copper Metallic paint finish, unique fender badging, and a serialized center console badge. Standard exterior color options will include Field Green Metallic and Marsh Gray. The Bronco Filson will be built at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant with pre-ordering expected to open this fall, with vehicles rolling into dealerships in early 2027. Retail pricing has not yet been announced.
