Former metro Denver school paraprofessional charged with child enticement, internet luring

A former Mapleton Public Schools paraprofessional was arrested and charged with enticement and internet luring of a child, the Thornton Police Department said Wednesday.

Michael Christopher Digiacomo, 47, is charged with two felonies after an investigation into incidents that happened between March 13 and April 3, while he was working as a paraprofessional at Welby Community School.

Digiacomo was put on administrative leave April 3 and fired from the school district May 29, police said. Mapleton district officials could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday night.

Investigators believe Digiacomo may have worked at other metro Denver school districts but are still working to confirm where he worked, Thornton police said.

“Detectives are investigating the possibility of additional victims and encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward,” agency officials said in a news release.

Digiacomo was released from the Adams County Jail on a $3,000 cash bail on Sunday and is set to appear in court for an arraignment hearing on Friday, court records show.
